Assumpta Coyle has been appointed by the HSE Office of the National Clinical Advisor and Group Lead for Chronic Disease in association with the HSE Health and Social Care Professions Office to the position of Interim Podiatry Lead for the National Clinical Programme for Diabetes. This appointment is part-time for an initial period of six months.  

Assumpta is a senior podiatrist in the University Hospital Limerick, specialising in active diabetic foot care. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Podiatric Medicine from the University of Sunderland in 2000 and subsequently completed a postgraduate Diploma in Primary Care Diabetes Management in 2006. In 2017, she completed a BA in Business and Management Practices in the University of Limerick and she is currently undertaking a MSc in Lower Limb Preservation in Diabetes at Ulster University. She worked in the NHS for over 15 years, where she gained extensive podiatry experience before returning to Ireland in 2013. Assumpta has a wealth of experience, not only as a clinical podiatrist working in diabetes but also in managerial and supervisory roles relevant to her work.
