We are delighted to welcome fellow podiatrist Robert Isaacs who is going to take us through 3 sessions looking at Neurological conditions this evening. Our first session will be on Fibromyalgia.

Robert is a podiatrist with a special interest in biomechanics, and in particular, with chronic pain disorders. He is an associate lecturer at QMU, and an Invited lecturer on the masters programme at the University of Ulster, CESPU in Portugal, and conferences in the UK and abroad. His approach is Evidence Based, but centred around practical clinical applications that delegates should find useful in everyday clinics, whether they are MSK specialists or not.

These sessions are fully funded for HSE Podiatrists but are open to all our colleagues to join in, there is a nominal administration fee for non public sector employees and all sessions will be recorded and available to watch for all registrants two weeks after the series is complete.

Learning outcomes:

To understand the origins of our understanding of fibromyalgia

To appreciate the intersection between psychology, rheumatology and neurology in the pathophysiology of Fibromyalgia.

To be aware of the contraindications and cautions in play when Managing fibromyalgia.

To be able to develop management plans and strategies in managing podiatric manifestations of fibromyalgia

To be familiar with the modern diagnostic criteria for Fibromyalgia
